Setting Your Goals in 2020

Setting Goals

“Goals enable you to do more for yourself and others, too.” ~ Zig Ziglar

One of the most important lessons I have learned in in 2019 was to make sure I set, adjusted, and aligned my goals

and mindset. This has been an ongoing process and I have learned that it is ok to change things as I work through my goals and process, however learning to know when to change and realign my goals has been just as import as setting the initial goal.

Trust your Intuition and step outside your comfort zone

Learn to trust your intuition and step outside your comfort zone and do things to serve your goals. Stepping outside of your comfort zone might be necessary to achieve your goals, and learning to adjust your mindset is a big part of stepping outside of your comfort zone AND aligning your mindset with your goals. Who do you serve? Make your intention is to serve first –

meaning give good service – having great products, you will attract the clients and customers that can’t wait to work with you.

Deciding what and who you serve is the next step in achieving this goal.

You need to know who and what you serve with your products and services. Know where you stand – and be able to

tell others what your values, vision, and mission is. Take some time to deceive what your why is. Why do you want to achieve this goal? Why is it important? Why is it important to?

Get some help.

There is no reason to go about alone. Influencers are called influencers for a reason. Find someone that is doing the things you love and ask them questions, look at the things they are doing. Find out if you can learn from them.

Get a coach, coaches give guidance, clarity and direction to help you see your goals through. You will

have to p ay your coach a fee and coaches are paid to help you achieve your goals. Coaches might assign you tasks or

give your directions for your goals, but you must complete these projects and do the work yourself. The strategies

your coach comes up with for you will be examined and tested sometimes retested to see what works and what may need improving. Coaches usually have broad experience that can bridge the gap on your goals.

Find a Mentor – a mentor is someone who has experience in your field or area of interest. A mentor is a teacher and

someone to guide you through your goals. The relationship is usually someone you might know personally or professionally and has built naturally. Use your mentor to share ideas, and get  feedback. Mentors are typically free.

Classes and courses from subject matter experts are a way to gain the needed skills to achieve your goals and to set

yourself in the RIGHT direction.

Be open to change

Learn to have some flexibility. Not being to open to change can greatly hinder your goals. Being open to feedback and criticism is key to progress. There are many ways to achieve a goal and knowing when to switch directions can save

a lot of headache. Having the wrong alignment in your goals can set you on a path of procrastination, wasted time, and

disappointment.

The outcome is not the same for everyone, everything that you are doing or working on, it may differ for each business or person, but things tend to fall in place when you hard at their goals and putting in the long hours -You will find that when you align your goals and mindset with your talent and hard work – opportunities will become available to you and made for you. Set yourself up for success and follow through with your goals.

Follow the steps below to help you complete your goals

1.   List and prioritize your goals

2.  Join groups of like minded individuals – Find groups on Facebook, Meetup , and Instagram

3.  Take classes and courses related to your goals

4.  Determine your Vision

5. Evaluate your Mission

6.  Develop your Values

7.  Find a Mentor

8.  Get a Coach

9.  Make a plan to implement your goals

10.  Make yourself accountable

11.   Align and Adjust your goals and mindset as things change

“Set realistic goals, keep re-evaluating, and be consistent.” ~Venus Williams

Why I Chose to Rebrand

After a year with my business name and domain name, logo, colors and social media I decided to take all those things and toss them aside (well mostly toss them) and start a new with a new business name, logo, colors brand and mission. How many of you have ever though of just starting over – starting over with a project or change directions on what you’re currently doing? Well after some careful thought – and a chat with my business coach I did exactly that and I can tell you I feel so much better about my business, I actually have not felt this good about my business since I started back in 2008.I decided to change my brand to my name! Who better to promote my business than me!! Although with my past business names most recently Savvy Web Design, and previously Creative Media Design I did like these names, and brand colors and I did mostly the same things that I do now – Web Design, Branding, Graphics – I was not in love with these names. Basically because it was not all I was doing – it was just a small piece of what my business was about. I really enjoy helping others – especially businesses that may not be sure of the brand direction they might what to go into. I work closely with business owners to learn about what they do and how I can best help them, and I might be savvy and definitely creative I am also detailed, I love planning and managing projects, I enjoy innovative technology, I have great ways to keep you, your business and your projects organized. So I not only changed my brand I changed the way I look at what I do, and I have approached working with my clients differently. Together we can plan and coordinate the best strategy to bring what you do to the forefront and get you in front of the right clients and customers looking for businesses like yours. I have realized that all aspects of my business must reflect the biggest influencer of my business – me.Arlinda Robinson Design is who I am and what I do – all aspects of digital design and creation using savvy tools and techniques to “Create your space on the web” and “Bring some style to your brand”.

Let’s Design Your Brand

Get started on your brand with these valuable tips.

So everyone needs to be branded, but where do you start? More importantly what is a brand or branding? A brand is what distinctly identify’s you – your idea, your group, or your business to your ideal audience. Your brand should make you stand out to those seeking what you have to teach, sell, inform and share. An effective brand will make these seekers stop and take notice. A consistent image that makes you easily identifiable and memorable to those that cross your content. Branding is what will get you noticed – attracting your ideal audience your way. When most think of a brand first thoughts are only of the visual elements: logo, fonts, colors, photos, however there are more elements required in an effective brand strategy. The elements of a brand include : Brand Identity, Visual Elements, and Digital Elements. We are going to start with the not so obvious brand elements that are often overlooked when thinking of a brand but are just as if not more important in defining your brand strategy. Some of these elements may have been defined in your business plan, if not that should be your next task. Brand Identity. The elements of the identity part of branding are – Name, Values and Ideal Audience. These elements define what your brand is, who you want to attract, and what you have to offer. This is a great place to start with a new brand or in revamping your existing brand. These elements help you explore what sets your brand apart from others what you value, your story, and your brand promise to your ideal client.Visual Branding. The elements of the visual part of branding are – Logo, Fonts and Colors. The key to the visual elements of branding is being consistent, in all things visually representative of your brand. Logo’s should be professional in appearance. Choose 4-5 colors from a color palette, recording the hex value for future use. Most importantly fonts should be easy to read, and again consistent pick 2-3 fonts to use across your visual spaces that are a representative of your brand. Digital Branding. The elements of the digital part of branding are – a Website, Social Media, and Branded Email. You must have a space on the web that is all yours, completely representative of your brand – a website. A website is something you control, and you can add information, courses, and sell items, or services. It is important that you don’t solely rely on social media to create the content for your brand.Social media is second only to a website of your own. Branding on social media is your chance to share the content you create on your website, connect with new users, and target your ideal audience. Branded Emails are the most overlooked items when building a brand. A branded email gives your brand a professional appearance, and gives you ideal audience a sense of confidence when receiving emails, newsletters, and updates from your brand. Individually these items may not complete a brand, but together they make a strong basis of ab great brand. Have you started working on branding yourself, your business idea or a group?
